The wonderful room. It was very clean and luxurious. The bathroom was also fully equipped with anything we needed. The location is just across the beach and you can rent the bike for free to explore the area. I recommend riding to Nanbin Park too, as there is a night market there. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. :D
The view from our room is only roof of other building, but the good thing is that the room is not noisy.

Nice people. The room was beautiful, and breakfast was just fine. There is a bike trail just across the (busy) street. The hotel has good bicycles (gratis), and you can ride for many km (see map here: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=23.9663&lon=121.6104&zoom=14&layers=M). Ocean was the best hotel we stayed in there.
It is next to an industrial area with constant truck traffic. The same is true of much of Taiwan, but in Hualien they are spending a fortune to make bikeways and to clean up the coast.

This hotel is a hidden gem in a convenient location. Opposite the port, it offers stunning views of the sea from rooms with indoor balconies. The staff here are exceptional - their helpfulness to non-Chinese speakers is truly impressive. Another great feature is the breakfast buffet, which is standard but does the job.
No significant negatives to mention - everything was great.

The hotel has perfect location, with amazing bike paths to explore along the coast and a beautiful beachfront park within walking distance. The staff are quite helpful and ready to provide recommendations and arrange local tours and taxi. We enjoyed the complimentary bikes and the mix of Chinese and Western continental breakfast. There are also several eateries and a laundromat within a few minutes walk.
Everything great.

Staff are friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our room due to some miscommunication but they sort it out for us in a very professional manner. Gave us many information about the city and even drove us around.

Close to sea and bike paths.
Very basic rooms. Hotel staff controlled our balcony lights and left them shining into our room until 10:30 pm. You can find better in the city for less.

Despite the location being a bit out of the way, the free bicycle rental was a highlight of our stay. It allowed us to explore the area around the hotel and enjoy the stunning views of the coastline. the breakfast had a great variety of Chinese and Western options, giving us the chance to try different dishes. Lastly, the cleanliness of the rooms was impressive.
The room we stayed in was not soundproof. We could hear noises from other rooms and the hallway which made it a bit difficult to sleep.

The hotel staff were very accomodating and made us feel at home. The hotel chartered a mini-van to take us and another group to a night market on our 1st night, complimentary drinks were served to our room on our 2nd night, and we were sent to the train station on the day we left the hotel. Service was excellent. The hotel room is also decently sized and the beds are comfortable. It also comes with a small balcony (good for smokers but due to the noise the balcony is closed up with only 2 windows).
I was slightly disappointed with the location though. As it was facing a busy intersection it got quite noisy in the mornings. Furthermore, the hotel is not within walking distance from town - the only place in hualien with night activities, street food, massage, shopping etc. We had to commute to and fro ard via cab on our 2nd night, approx 5mins nt110. Also, the 'oceanview' was merely a view of a port (there's no beach, just a seaport). The hotel toilet was also quite cram although the room was quite decently sized. Overall I would still recommend this hotel if you prioritise hotel cleanliness, comfort and good service over location. NT220 isn't a high price to pay for cab rides to and from town.

I recently had a wonderful stay at an oceanfront hotel in Hualien. The value for money was excellent, with affordable prices and attention to detail throughout. The location, right opposite the port, was fantastic, offering beautiful views and the convenience of being in a shopping area. The staff at this hotel were exceptional, providing friendly and attentive service. The basic amenities, such as comfortable beds and a good shower, were exactly what I needed. I also loved the indoor balcony in my room, which added a nice touch. Lastly, the breakfast provided was delicious and a great way to start the day.
All aspects of my stay at this hotel were great, nothing to improve.

It is clean. Bathing water is good.
1) The staffs were not honest.(When we ask for check-in around 1 pm, the staffs said that all the room were booked and there were not any room clean for us to check in. We book 2 rooms btw. Laterly, I ask them to check it out if any room empty although not clean, for us to put the luggages in. They said their clean staffs will be at work around 1 pm, nobody to clean the rooms, and they insist on check in at 3 pm. I said we have 2 kids, want to use the bathrooms, to put the luggages in, to have a rest for a while. They finally let us check in with 2 clean and empty rooms.) 2) 14 days to cancle the registeration. I asked to cancle the registeration 10 days before checking in, the staff in Gaoxiong was very polite, and help me to cancle. However, the hotel manager in Hualiean insist on that I have to pay 100% of the room fees if cancel, because their rules for free canceling is 14 days before the checking in day. 3) Hotel staffs are NOT polite. they do not smile, staring at the guests without helping of anything, like telling us where is the lift. 4) position is not good, far to train station. 5) hotel fees are TOO expensive companring with the services they provided. around 180 us dollars, not as good as SUPER 8 in the States.

Staff very friendly and helpful, quiet room, clean with a nice design.
Location, little bit far from downtown and very few restaurants around. Breakfast need to be improved, few western stuff.
